High School Leadership Training programs challenge students to grow in all areas of life. Most importantly, a person’s leadership influence flows from a healthy and growing relationship with God and a clear understanding of our identity in Christ. Building upon a spiritual foundation, students will learn communication skills that will enhance their relationships with friends, family, and throughout their community. The training programs are for high school students who have completed their freshman or sophmore year. 

Students will:

  • Grow in self-confidence
  • Identify their unique strengths and leadership gifts
  • Gain experience in team building, leading groups, communicating with confidence, conflict resolution, and goal setting
  • On the job work training and experience in that area of focus

Summer 2018 - For high school students who have completed their freshman or sophmore year. Students will participate in a leadership development program that will engage Counselors-In-Training (CIT) on leading games, leading or co-leading Bible studies, learning the ins and outs of event planning at Youth Camp, participating in staff meetings and staff development events, learning about their personality and leadership styles as they pertain to the group dynamic.

Summer 2018 - The Wrangler in Training (WIT) program provides the opportunity for high school age participants to apprentice alongside experienced horsemanship staff while assisting with trail rides, riding lessons, and all manner of horse and facility care during their four week session. WITs will gain valuable experience involving safety, horsemanship instruction, group control and horse care while working with guests and campers in the summer camp environment.
